• Do your products contain any latex?

  No. We have been working to remove latex from our entire range and now all Intersurgical products are completely latex free.

• In some of my anaesthetic circuits there is a two-pronged red piece of plastic. What is this for?

  This is a leak tester, it is supplied with all Bains and Uniflo Breathing systems, It is used to check the internal lumen for any leaks.

• What is Silver Knight?


  These are a range of circuits that contain an anti-microbial additive in the tube which makes them effective against HAIs such as MRSA. To help reduce the incidence of HAIs we have developed a range of anti-microbial anaesthetic breathing systems. The Silver Knight range uses silver ions to disrupt the normal enzymatic activities of bacteria. Silver Knight functions as a safe, quick and effective catalyst to inactivate pathogenic bacteria and prevent the proliferation.


• We currently use a soda lime with a colour change of white to violet, do you supply a pink to white option?

  Yes, we can supply pink to white, which is the usual adopted colour change in the UK. We also have green to violet which is a non-caustic version called LoFloSorb.

• What concentration can I expect to receive from a high concentration mask?

  You can expect to receive between 70% – 80 % concentration from our high concentration oxygen masks.

• We have been using your nebulisers on our asthmatic patients but some of them find that the mask makes them feel claustrophobic, can you help?

  This is a common problem associated with asthmatics as they can find these masks restrictive, our advise would be to offer a mouthpiece instead of the mask, many patients prefer this as they are more in control of the treatment. We offer a variety of nebuliser kit options

• I need to accurately deliver 28% Oxygen to my patient, what device do you have?

  The only way to accurately deliver any fixed concentration of oxygen is from a venturi valve. We have a range of six concentrations available from 24%-60%, all are 100% tested for their accuracy and can be purchased individually, with an adult mask or in a complete kit.

• We are presently using your heated wire circuits on out ITU and many of our patients then go onto CPAP, do you have just one circuit that we can use for both therapies?

  Product code 2027 is a single wire circuit that can converted to CPAP and aerosol therapy.
